USA - Day 49 - New York Central Park

We left the Met and 5th Avenue and headed into Central Park. So beautiful; big old trees, green spaces, meandering paths, lakes, statues, people, and of course, lots and lots of squirrels. We found a map at the Lake House that showed the way to Strawberry Fields. This pays homage to John Lennon and is near the Dakota building, where he and Yoko Ono lived in Central Park West. We ended up at the southern end on the East side, so we had to walk a number of blocks across to the west side at Columbia Circle on 57th Street. It was a long walk to the the Dakota building on 72nd Street, then further along to the Strawberry Fields entrance. Once there, a short walk into the park and we found the 'Imagine' tribute. Lots of people were patiently waiting their turn to take a photo or three. We then had to walk all the way back to our digs on 39th Street. Think we did about 18 kilometers today and my feet know all about it!
