USA - Day 72 - Tucson Catalina State Pk and Brewhouse

Had breakfast in Gringos (Mexican restaurant at the hotel); lots of arty pieces all through the hotel as well as the rooms. Later on we drove to Catalina State Park about 14 miles away. There were many trails to choose from; the Birding trail sounded good, so off we went. Didn't see many birds but lots of cactus, trees and great mountain vistas. We'd worked up an appetite, so drove back into town in search of somewhere to have lunch. We happened upon BJ's Brewhouse (not too far from our digs) and decided to give it a go. Turned out to be great food and service. Kent had a 4 x beer taster and I had a really nice dry apply cider and my grilled salmon was really good.

Off to Catalina State Pk; love all the palms, reminds me of LA and Palm Springs.

Park ranger station ahead; had to pay as our National Pk annual pass didn't cover this state park.

Let's go on the Birding Trail.
