USA - Day 55 - Blowing Rock to Asheville

Continuing on from Blowing Rock, we travelled NW to Cherokee Nat Forest. This route took us through Alpine resort areas such as Banner Elk, Elk Park and Elk River. Didn't see any Elk. Good twisty roads and lots of Fall colours. We went from North Carolina to Tennessee and back again, and changing direction to SE, to get to Ashville for the night. This was a big day's driving and the standout was the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Adventure town; a bit like Moab, but alpine sports.

Apple cider and pumpkins.

Some alpine houses.
Banner Elk.

Elk River.

Another 'Elk' town.
Tennessee!

We finally got to Cherokee Nat Forest, however, this is not Cherokee!
Nice roads through the Cherokee forest.
Old ute.
Nice mountain roads
Back into North Carolina.
Blue mountains in the Fall.

Nice old car!
Heading to our digs in Asheville.
