USA - Day 68 - Albuquerque Sandia Peak and Sunset

We left the museum and Old Town and headed East on the motorway to Sandia Peak. Nice, twisty mountain roads and good views of Albuquerque way down below; over 10,000 feet elevation at the crest. On the way down, we had a little encounter with a deer. It just came out of the forest, very gently, then paused on the side of the road. Luckily there were no other cars in either direction, so we came to a complete stop and just watched and waited. After a little while the deer turned and bounded back into the forest. So surreal. The sun was setting as we made our way back down the mountain.
